Labor and Delivery...

My original due date was January 17th, 2009. My water broke the morning of the 17th at 6:15 AM. I was actually scheduled to be induced that morning. Kyle took me to the hospital that morning and since my water had broke they didn't have to induce me (thank goodness).!! I wasn't having any contractions so they had me walk the halls like a million times... Then they gave me the potosin to try to speed things along. Although it didn't speed anything along. I didn't start feeling anything till like 4 that evening. Thats when i had them give me the epidural (by the way i would recommend the epidural to EVERYONE!), then even at that point I was only feeling the little contractions not the big ones. Once a friend who is a massage therepist came in and started massaging my feet and my sides is when my labor really started. At that point the nurse swas checking me quite frequently and finally after quite a long time i was finally dialated to a 10 or so the nurse thought. She said that the baby was facing the right direction and that i was dialated far enough so she had me start pushing. I was pushing for about 20 min or longer when Dr. Tindall came in and got pissed cause I was already pushing the baby was sunny side up and i also wasn't dialated far enough. He went on a rampage pretty much. At that point I started throwing up and it was intense enough they thought it was going to cause me to deliver the baby. Finally Dr. Tindall came in and i was dialated far enough and it was time to push. All I really remember from that cause i was so tired was in between pushing Dr. Tindall was talking about how he came to be a doctor, pushing took forever, and I was falling asleep. They kept having to wake me up to push cause I was so tired. Finally she was out @ 1:59 AM on January 18th, 2009. She was 8 pounds 6 ounces and 20 inches long. Dr. Tindall put her in my arms and it was LOVE instantly. My baby girl was finally here and wiggly and alert as ever. Dr. Tindall said he has never seen such an alert baby just born.

  1. it never fails to amaze me that no two women have the same labor & delivery story. I'm glad she didn't give you TOO hard of a time.
